There is an old axiom that says , “Many hands make light work.” This is a very needful message in a today’s religious culture that relishes sitting back and being entertained. Or a consumer culture that ask “what can they do for me, rather than what can I do.”

The Bible teaches us that “every” member is a minister. Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus that Christ gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists and some pastor/teachers, ( this list is not inclusive of all the gifts. There are other gift listings in scripture) to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ might be built up. ( Eph 4:11, 12)

At conversion, every Christian is given at least one spiritual gift and it is to be used to build up the church so that church can build up the world. At St Stephen, we preach and try to model this. Come and join us because many hands make light work.
